Work is underway on a Guitar Instructional website with video lessons on topics from guitar technique to improvisation and music theory. A summer launch is expected for the site which will be a collaboration between Carey and guitarist Kevin Dollar. Check back for updates.

The CU guitar Ensembles and Boulder Guitar Orchestra had another successful concert last night, performing to a large crowd in Grusin Auditorium.

02.14.07 | Conundrum Duo Wins 2007 Bruce Ekstrand Competition
Conundrum Duo wins Ekstrand Competition
On February 14th, the Conundrum Duo won the prestigious Ekstrand Competition at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Begun in 1986, the Ekstrand Competition is held each year for the graduate music students at the university and features a $2,000 first-place prize as well as a performance at the Colorado Music Festival. Competitors must undergo two rounds of auditions before being selected for the finals. Rob and Carey competed against five other students in the final round and were selected to received the first-place prize by judge David Starobin, head of Bridge Records and one of the most renowned classical guitarists of the last century. They were also selected as the 'Audience Favorite,' an additional $500 prize awarded by a vote of the audience members.
