Carey Harwood

Guitarist Carey Harwood has presented concerts throughout the United States and in Central America. Performances with the Greensboro Opera Company, the Greensboro Symphony, the Central City Opera, the Triad Guitar Quartet, the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra, the Conundrum Duo (voice and guitar), the Longmont Symphony and the Colorado Light Opera as well as solo concerts on guitar, electric guitar, lute, mandolin and banjo are evidence of his wide ranging muscial interests. He has served on the faculty at the Music Academy of North Carolina, Elon University, the Rocky Mountain Center for Musical Arts, the University of Colorado (where he headed the guitar program after receiving his doctorate in 2005), and Elon University where he currently serves on the guitar faculty. Carey's collaboration with tenor Robert Glaubitz, (the Conundrum Duo) recently won Colorado's prestigious Bruce Ekstrand Graduate Competition. He is currently working on a CD of 19th century parlor and ragtime banjo, mandolin and guitar music, a solo classical guitar recording, and a recording with the Conundrum Duo. All three recordings are slated for a Fall 2009 release.
